I’ve just been prescribed a trial of Erfa Thyroid, could anyone direct message me where to get it from? Ive tried 2 chemists and realised its not easily available. Also how much is 1/2 a grain equivalent to in terms of T4/T3?
Many thanks in advance

You have a prescription for Erfa? Then ThyroidUK has a list of pharmacies that will dispense here, you will need to ring round and compare price:

Erfa tablet information:
30 mg tablet has 18 mcg of T4 and 4 mcg of T3 which is equivalent to 1/2 grain.
60 mg tablet has 35 mcg of T4 and 8 mcg of T3 which is quivalent to 1 grain.
SS, how does anyone get to be prescribed Erfa (NDT? Isn't it?) do I need a private endo? I am still trying to get to my GP to even discuss referring me to an Endo, it seems he will not budge, or answer my emails.
Sorry BrynGlas I don't know. I believe it's very difficult to get it on the NHS as NDT is not licensed and it would have to be on a "named patient basis" but finding an NHS doctor willing to do that isn't easy.

I don't how how easy it would be to find a private doctor to prescribe, that would need some research and asking for recommendations. Knowing where you live I think it will be like searching for hens' teeth but someone may know.
ThyroidUK has a list of doctors who have previously prescribed NDT so you could send for that if you're interested. Contact Dionne for the list of thyroid friendly endos and ask for both NHS and private:

I have just changed to Erfa . Mine is private script . Try Roseway Labs in London .
