Hi I'm continuing to have problems. I ordered my monthly prescription for liothyronine MercuryPharma. My usual pharmacist ordered it for me, and actually had the drug in his pharmacy. A few days later I received a call from the pharmacy to say that when they checked my prescription to dispense my liothyronine they couldnt because the brand name had been removed from my prescription.
I've been in contact with my GPS surgery to find that medicines management looked at my prescribing screen and removed the brand from it. No one contacted me, this was done at the end of august.
The pharmacy apparently cannot dispense me liothryronine without a brand on the script.
I've been told that the CCG have removed it from their prescribing formulary.
Three available Morningside, Teva ( don't even go there the side effects are horrible) and ? Activist never heard of the latter.
Can someone offer me any advice as to what I do now, I've only got a few tablets left.
I'm in despair and actually could sit and cry as I've had 18 years of problems after having a total thyrodectomy, even having to take early retirement ( losing thousands in income as I was nowhere near retirement age & wasn't put on long sick either. When my then gp decided to reduce both my T4/T3 combination by two doses of both drugs on the comment of someone from the path lab ( panic stations because of my low TSH 0.01 this has been my norm for many years. I was told by an endo that T3 causes this and it's effects are permanent ,feels like the last nail in the coffin lid.
Help needed from all you fellow suffers.

So far as I am aware the information below includes all makes/brands of liothyronine tablets available in the UK.
It seems unlikely that a new Actavis product would be launched as the company Accord, which took over the UK generic products part of Actavis, is in the process of changing branding to Accord.
Of course, I don't know everything.
MHRA medicine documents for "liothyronine" are available here:
This is a list of currently marketed liothyronine tablets in the UK.
Please note that re-branding (whether by a manufacturer or as an ‘own label supplier’) – which has happened with several products – does not mean any change to formulation.
—————————————————————
🔹 Advanz (marketing authorisation holder) – branded Mercury Pharma (also branded Tertroxin but not marketed under that brand in the UK)
🔹 – identifies marketing authorisation holder (or equivalent in other countries)
🔸 – identifies ‘own label supplier’ products
🏭 – identifies manufacturers (where known)
🥛 – contains lactose
🟢 PIL – Patient Information Leaflet
🟣 SPC – Summary of Product Characteristics document
🟢🟣 – Single document combining typical PIL and SPC information
—————————————————————
Numbers refer to tablet dosages in micrograms.
Only products which definitely contain lactose are identified (🥛 contains lactose). Please always check other products. Where products are ‘own label supplier’, check the marketing authorisation holder for the specific product.

I've never had to put a brand on my lio (or my levo come to that). Normally get teva lio (don't be scared of their lio - it's the Teva levo that causes so many people problems) - or whatever else they can get ...
But I suppose CCGs may not all be the same. Hope you get meds that suit soon x
Hi thanks. I had to take TEVA Liothyronine for 5 months a few years ago and it gave me the most awful abdominal pains and I felt even more tired than normal. Finally then got Mercury Pharma on my script. I'm sure I've read somewhere on here other people experiencing similar problems. I don't know why things cannot be left alone when what I'm taking I'm managing with.
