As you can see your TSH is over range and the FT4 at the bottom. May I politely suggest this Doc needs glasses ! FT3 trying hard to keep you going ! You are Hypo !

This company does not test anti-bodies so you are unable to rule out Hashimotos.

As Marz says, you are hypo but the NICE guidelines require TSH to reach 10 before diagnosis. If you had below range FT4 or raised antibodies you would possibly get a diagnosis with TSH over range but below 10.

You could take a list of symptoms to your GP and see if you could persuade him to give you a trial of Levo with your TSH so high over range.

List of symptoms which you can print and tick off any that apply:

Just read the overall comments in your next post...sorry, this medic is clueless!

Your FT4 is 11% through the ref range

Your FT3 is 32.43% ........

Both should be around 75% through their respective ranges

You are hypothyroid

Your pituitary is struggling to ensure you have some T3 to enable you to function

TSH at 7.2 indicates low/ inadequate thyroid hormone

TSH should be close to 1 for good health

You should be medicated but medics often wait until TSH is 10.....nonsense!

This might help -

How do you feel? Not great I guess....

Visit your GP and ask him/her to review your thyroid results with a view to treating with levothyroxine.

Good luck

You should be started on levothyroxine.

Standard starter dose of levothyroxine is 50mcg and bloods retested 6-8 weeks time. Dose is increased slowly upwards in 25mcg steps until on full replacement dose

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested yet?

If not, ask GP to do so at first 6 weeks test after starting on levothyroxine

All your vitamins are low because of being hypothyroid

Have you started on good quality vitamin B complex.

And increased vitamin D supplements

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Hiya, thanks to you all for your replies...

So what can I do...

Do I go back to monitor my health for review of bloods or do they not do this ??

I feel bloody rotten to be honest and thanks I’ll use the checklist when discussing with doctor.

If I go to doctor with results without the explanation will they treat with persuasion from me, or will it be a battle !! I’m totally prepared for with the help of you lovely lot!!☺️

Shall I get a private antibody test if yes which company is the best??

I have been taking the spray suggested which I only started using after sample was taken.

This result really explains all that I have been experiencing in the last few years!! So thank god for that !!

Sorry for all the questions just need to know the best way forward for next steps xx

Well ....I have had phone appointment with doctor this morning and given all results. He stated that the higher TSH result doesn’t mean I need to be treated as the other levels were within range !!

I referred to Nice Guidelines stating I can have 6 month trial, he said no you need a blood test in 6 weeks testing everything (so he says) and it’s a fasting one, said he wants to check steroid levels!!

I said it all makes sense the low Vit D - pernicious anaemia- weight gain pins and needles, etc etc .....

Ironically it was the same doctor who I had battled with over my Pernicious Anaemia!! Don’t think he likes the fact I question his decisions!!

Total waste of time !!! Annoyed!!
