I’ve been having headaches almost daily for a few weeks now and I’ve been prescribed beta blockers and Sumatriptan which didn’t work at all so I contacted my GP again and was prescribed Naproxen and Omeprazole which also did not work
Last week I took a trip to A&E and they took blood tests, checked my temperature, checked my blood pressure, did a chest x ray, did an ECG and took a urine test. When I saw the doctor after all these tests he said that the only thing he noticed was that I was slightly dehydrated and that there was slight ketosis and that I should get my IUD (coil) removed which I am going to do. He prescribed paracetamol and codeine which worked a little but I still have daily headaches which are really worrying me as my dad passed away from a brain tumour so that’s on my mind. I’m about to order a thyroid plus 11 blood test from Blue Horizon too but just wondered if anyone has had daily headaches and if they could be related to the fact I’ve had a thyroidectomy and am on NDT and other supplements
Sorry for the long-winded post but I hope someone can advise
I’m seeing my GP again next week and am getting my thyroid bloods done this week
Thanks so much 🙏❤️

Sorry to hear you have been suffering from headaches. Before I was diagnosed with Hashi's I had severe migraine for days on end. Ate your thyroxine levels ok?
People have thyroid testing differently. I have to have mine every two months as it's rarely the same twice. My thyroxine, blood vitamins and minerals have to be near the top of the range for my to feel ok. My vitamin D3 and B12 can drop rapidly if supplementation is not right. A lack of both makes me feel unwell.
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
If/when on NDT make sure to take last third or half of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
