My daughter has recently had blood yests done that state her
FRE T4 IS 13 from a range of 9 to 25
Serum tsh is 6.7 range 0.3 to 5
Would changing her diet be sufficient to keep this check as i am loathed to have her take meds after my own bad experiance of levy. Any advice please on further tests needed like vitamins ect and diet. Thankyou

No. Her thyroid is failing. She is unlikely to get a diagnosis until her TSh reaches 10 or her FT4 goes below range. In some countries hypothyroidism is diagnosed when TSH reaches 3.
She is hypothyroid, her thyroid is not producing enough hormone. Eventually she will need thyroid hormone replacement. Changes in diet cannot replace a hormone.

That doesn't necessarily mean that she will also have a bad experience with Levothyroxine. It is all that will be prescribed initially. If she doesn't do well with one brand then she can try another, if she reacts to all brands then that's the time to look further into the problem. Don't let your sister suffer because you had a bad experience, it may be very different for her.
For a full picture the tests needed for thyroid are:
Thank you. My daughter has special needs and lives away from home and because of past events i didnt want to just go head long into meds when diet may help more at this stage. She wouldnt cope with what i went through so just trying to do it differently. She only has mild symptoms and with her learning disability its difficult to assess too. Thank you for the lists of other tests to do. 😊
