Too much Vit.D

My friends vitamin D is very high 126ng/ml. Her tsh is 1.41 mlU/L0.27-4.20. FT4 is 14.6 pmoI/L 12-22.00. FT3 is 3.3 - pmoI/L 3.1-6.8. Her doctor told that he never seen any one with such a high vitamin.d with out taking supplement. Should she be worried. And any advice for her. Many thanks .

Maybe her GP should be looking into it.

Hypervitaminosis D is usually caused by taking too much D3 supplement but there are other causes, she should maybe read this article and discuss any concerns with her doctor:

If she wants her thyroid results interpreting then we need to know if she's diagnosed with a thyroid condition and on any medication.

Sorry taken so long to get back to you . I have forwarded her the article and she would some advice on her thyroid. She has been diagnosed as underactive and on 100 mcg. Eltroxin, she also has Lichen Sclerosus,Arthritis , high blood pressure and Asthma if that any help. Thank you , Seaside Susie, you have been a great help so far. Keep safe.

I imagine your friend doesn't feel particularly well. The aim of a treated hypo patient on Levo, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or lower with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges. Her FT4 is just 26% through range and her FT3 is a mere 5.41% through range. If she has hypothyroid symptoms then her results show that she is undermedicated and could do with an increase in her Levo.

However, does she take any other medication? If so she should take it at least 2 hours away from her Levo otherwise it's absorption will be affected.

Does she know that Levo should be taken on it's own, one hour before or 2 hours after food, with a glass of water only, and water only for one hour either side, no tea, coffee, etc.

Does she know that when having thyroid tests they should be done no later than 9am, nothing to eat or drink except water until after the test, and last dose of Levo should be 24 hours before the test.
