How Do I log out?

Hi, I'm new here. I had a hemi-thyroidectomy in 2007 for multi-nodular goitre. Since having thyroid problems I'm now more aware of trying to keep it functioning healthily, so any tips or advice would be welcome. I'm not on medication but do have some symptoms of underactive thyroid. My TSH post-operative has always varied between 1.9 and 5.2. My Free T4 remains near the bottom of the range.

One question I do have is how do I log out of this site please? Cannot see a log-off icon? Many thanks.

To log out - click on your avatar, top right of page, drop down menu has "Log out" at the bottom.

What are your most recent results? Can you post them with their reference ranges? A TSH of 5.2 is probably over range and with FT4 near the bottom of the range you will be struggling as that is hypothyroidism. Sounds like you could do with Levothyroxine.

Low Ft4 and high TSH = hypothyroidism

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

You may need to get full Thyroid testing privately as NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are negative

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
