Does any one has severe constipation why taking thyroid medication? What works for u?
I have been taking prunes and isabgol, indian equivalents of Metamucil, lately they don’t seem to work well. Any suggestions?

I think constipation is quite common and it may be a sign that you are under-medicated.
One possibility that can help some people is magnesium citrate. If it interests you, you should buy it in powder form with no other ingredients - no flavourings, no colours, no preservatives and no sugar. They simply aren't necessary. Magnesium citrate is taken mixed in water. It doesn't have a wonderful taste, but it isn't that bad and is easy enough to get used to. You could try half - one teaspoon a day, mixed in water.
Holland & Barrett also do a magnesium citrate tablet which is reasonably easy to take and only contains magnesium citrate, bulking agent (micro-crystalline cellulose) and anti-caking agent (magnesium stearate).
I've bought those, but gave up on buying them eventually because they were so large and so dry that I found them difficult to swallow, and if I remember correctly the full dose is three tablets per day.
H&B also sells pure Magnesium citrate powder which is fine, but there are cheaper suppliers online. I find it a lot easier to swallow, and I use the mag cit + water to take my other supplements.
I find prune juice to be very effective rather than just plain prunes when I’ve forgotten to take magnesium regularly. A glassful of that seems to sort me out every time. Tastes disgusting, but needs must!
I'm obviously an oddity - I actually like prune juice. Perhaps I was a Klingon warrior in another life.
