30 years of symptoms, finally my first diagnosis..!

Hi, I live in spain so do not have a doctor to go to, so just wanted 2 nd opinions on my diagnosis.

free T3 2.53

TSH 1.93

FT4 1.13

reverse T3 0.15

ferretin 30.4

vitamin B12 336

D3 40.86

DHEA 1.90

I was advised to just up my vitamin numbers, and then see if my thyroid corrects itself,, I was wondering if this was the best advice or should I look further in to anything? thank you for any advice, i'm new to groups like this, so not too sure yet how it all works !

Welcome to the forum annacharlotte.

Your post is a little confusing. If you don't have a doctor, how did you get a diagnosis? And what did you get a diagnosis of? And who advised you to just up your vitamin numbers?

Ok , sorry for the lack of clarity, I did get my tests through a doctor, but of my own request, he does not understand the results, as few actually do , Im sure you know. I had an online call with an author of a Thyroid book, with years of experience of her own, She said I clearly had hypothyroidism, and advised me to up the vitamins first as it is a possibility this alone may fix the issue..

You need to give us reference rages for those results otherwise it’s hard to interpret.

What’s your diet like?

Vegetarian or vegan, organic, etc?

There’s no folate result

B12 is low. Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be beneficial. This will improve all B vitamins

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast

Igennus Super B complex are nice small tablets. Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Certainly only start with one tablet per day after breakfast. Retesting levels in 6-8 weeks

Or Thorne Basic B or jarrow B-right are other options that contain folate, but both are large capsules

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Ferritin is low, but iron is complex. You shouldn’t supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia

But you can increase iron rich foods in your diet

Vitamin D is good

thank you so much for all the info, great to know about the folic acid, the b supplement I have just started taking has f.acid and not folate.. I have just B12 alone, from pure encapsulations arriving soon, should I take folate separately along side ?

4 years ago I ended a 17 year diet of raw foods, fruit and a bit of veg, my food sensitivities became so bad I could barely eat anything without feeling terrible. Then started GAPS style of eating, then 1 year carnivore, and then 2 mth keto carnivore, and now just high fat low carb, paleo style. Organic mostly for years...

I am also taking some iron pills, which also have folic acid in, so I'm assuming I should stop taking them too?

thanks again
