High TSH in first trimester

I wanted to share our journey with everyone who all are worried about high TSH in pregnancy. Our endo recommended terminating our first child in 2013 as my TSH was 50+. We did that. Then we worked hard to get our TSH into limits and I convinced again in 2015. TSH was in range throughout the pregnancy. My daughter is 5 years now and is perfectly healthy and super smart. Later we planed for another kid and this time my TSH was fluctuating when I conceived. In the first 8 weeks after I tested positive of the good news, my TSH ranged from 00.15, 10.25,12.45,2.83, 6.79 and then came down to normal range (yeah TSH blood test every week was stressful, but we wanted to monitor it very closely.) We were worried a lot but since the TSH was not very high this time, our endo and we decided to continue. Our son now is 1+ year and he is also perfectly healthy and super smart. I posted a lot of questions while I was in my first trimester, read a lot of medical research papers and spend sleepless nights. I see many ppl posted questions but almost no one returned back to report their situation. So I decided to update all about our case. I hope it helps! Love from California!

So pleased ok, and congrats. I'm not medical but know now years later how fortunate I am with three children as was undiagnosed

But surely the swinging about of tsh is in connection with the usual pregnancy hormonal side, and the body is regulating with the usual fluctuations ?

Ps. Does it fluctuate with everyone just to the lesser degree I think is what I'm asking ?

If we had a blood test 12 times in one day, we'd most probably have a different result. That's why it is recommended an early as possible appointment for a blood test as some doctors reduce our dose of levo if TSH is low. They seem to believe that a low TSH is not good, whilst we, the patients, feel better if it is around 1 or lower. Many doctors are happy if TSH is 'somewhere' in the range'.
