I take Vit D alongside Vit K2, would this also apply to children?
I hope everyone is staying well in the current climate.

The reason why we take K2-MK7 when taking D3 is because D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and the K2 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it's needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't apply to children. However, I am not medically trained, nor are doctors trained in nutrition so most of them haven't even heard of K2 and what it does.
Yes anyone that takes vitamin d needs to take k2 and magnesium. Children's drops by Carlson have both in them in balance or you can get separate with same amounts. Iherb uk.
I think that the greatest requirements for vitamin k2 occur in childhood and adolescence due to bone growth, after childbirth to replenish our bones to prevent osteoporosis, then during and after menopause when we are low in estrogen / progesterone / testosterone (which helped us to build up bone density) and are more likely to have vitamin absorption issues. So, yes, K2 (lower dose) is safe* for children, but don't forget Magnesium which is vital to make vitamin D work properly in the body.

Thank you, a few more nuggets of info I never knew about K2 😊
I suspect that supporting bone density during adolescence is very important. However, I believe that nature is actually already doing this as hormone levels are also very high at this time (testosterone in particular) which helps growth and may also help direct minerals to the bones. If a child is getting problems with their teeth / not growing as expected / very tired all the time, I'd definitely look into supplementing their diet, but not all children will need this as much as us older souls whose vitamin / mineral absorption has got worse with time.
Pertinent considering my eldest is 14 and I’m on my way to becoming an older soul.
My youngest lost his 2 front teeth last Christmas and still no sign of new ones.
He hit but retained his two front baby teeth 4 years ago, so wondering if this is the cause of the delayed adult teeth.
Thanks so much again
Bear in mind it was a dentist (one hundred years ago) that discovered Vitamin K2 on his journey around the world and examining the teeth of those with indigenous cultures and diets and comparing them with integrated indigenous Americans into western culture and diets. The people who had retained their way of life and indigenous diets had very healthy teeth and no incidence of heart disease.. He realised that these people must have a nutrient that he called 'X' in their diets that directed Calcium to the bone and away from soft tissue.
