Why is my TSH level so low?
Because your pituitary is satisfied that there is enough thyroid hormone.
Do you keep a record of your results, with reference ranges? What have your results been like in the past?
Is your FT4 over range or at the top of the range?
TSH is a signal from the pituitary to tell the thyroid to make hormone. If it detects there's not enough TSH will be high if thyroid hormone is low. If there is enough thyroid hormone then TSH will be low.
I found this on a Hashimotos Facebook page as my TSH is 0.002 at the moment and is starred on my results - lower than normal but no word from GP - am on 200mcg of levothyroxin
👉Free T4 should be in the TOP 1/2 of the range.
👉TSH should be closer to 1.0 .
Note: If your are on natural desiccated thyroid medication or any T3-containing medication, your TSH will naturally be suppressed or below the reference range.
Also said when TSH are below normal range but T4 are in normal range then T3 should be tested
