So you need dose increase in levothyroxine

TSH is too high

Important to retest vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin regularly

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?

No supplements atm have just had iron retested which could do with improvement but in range, last test for vit d and b12 around 3 months back was ok , however my blood sugar was a tad high today so gp wants a fasting test done, the fact my thyroid has barely changed in 6 weeks definately suggests increase needed, im not waiting till June so will call endo monday.

What were vitamin D, folate and B12 results 3 months ago?

Have you tried strictly gluten free diet yet?!

sbadd profile image
sbadd in reply toSlowDragon

No gluten free im terrible, vit d was 74 in nov and my b12 was 686 in aug and active 146

Always worth trying for 3 months to see if it helps

It’s nowhere near as difficult, these days. Most of us who benefit would never dream of going back to eating gluten

You mentioned bloating......very common gluten intolerance symptom

Non Coeliac Gluten sensitivity (NCGS) and autoimmune disease

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/296...

The predominance of Hashimoto thyroiditis represents an interesting finding, since it has been indirectly confirmed by an Italian study, showing that autoimmune thyroid disease is a risk factor for the evolution towards NCGS in a group of patients with minimal duodenal inflammation. On these bases, an autoimmune stigma in NCGS is strongly supported

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/300...

The obtained results suggest that the gluten-free diet may bring clinical benefits to women with autoimmune thyroid disease

nuclmed.gr/wp/wp-content/up...

In summary, whereas it is not yet clear whether a gluten free diet can prevent autoimmune diseases, it is worth mentioning that HT patients with or without CD benefit from a diet low in gluten as far as the progression and the potential disease complications are concerned

restartmed.com/hashimotos-g...

Despite the fact that 5-10% of patients have Celiac disease, in my experience and in the experience of many other physicians, at least 80% + of patients with Hashimoto's who go gluten-free notice a reduction in their symptoms almost immediately.

Ft4 is dropping lower at each test, shows you need dose increase in levothyroxine

sbadd in reply toSlowDragon

T4 increased from 14 to 16 on last test, the test you see above the recent one is old, my endo uses different lab to my gp, so endos test 6 weeks ago was

Tsh 3.99 and t4 14, no ft3 was done, test above was done by gp

What’s the range on Ft4 test that’s 14?

Test on 5th March this year Ft4 16 is Only 60% through range

Eating a banana with breakfast daily should improve potassium

Fast heart rate can be due to being under medicated

I had to take propranolol for almost 20 years....due to being on inadequate dose levothyroxine and multiple vitamin deficiencies....only busy going strictly gluten free diet was I able to drop betablocker.....more on my profile

It’s relatively common practice to block and replace if you can’t increase levothyroxine up high enough

sbadd in reply toSlowDragon

Yes thankyou doct has given me a beta blocker if i decide to take as cardiologist ruled out any heart issues, im going to do the bananas for few weeks now plus some magnesium as see if improvement and maybe think about the beta blocker, strange thing is the best ive felt in over a year was the morning of a colonoscopy back in sept, no idea why maybe it was the prep solution, i never had any issues until i had b12 injections, fast heart rate started after those and went down hill from there, anyways thankyou for your information especially regarding the block and replace, makes sense. Im determined i will get to the bottom of it all.
