My older sister for the past 2 yrs has been going to Endocrinologist once a year, she has 2 nodules. Just recently she went for yearly check up and Endo ordered ultrasound because along with nodules she now has and enlarged thyroid.
I had thyroidectomy 3 yrs ago (pap cancer) and I too started with nodules and ended with enlarged thyroid and then thyroid cancer.
Health wise her and I share a lot of the same types of health problems like, meineres Disease, hearing loss (deaf in the same ear), GERD, high cholesterol, arthritis and trouble with weight and now thyroid issues..... Coincidence or connected?
She is getting only TSH and T4 tested NO mention of Antibodies and she doing labs early AM with no food or coffee before test.
She’s on no thyroid meds and she believes everything a doctor tells her (unwilling or unable to read up on her health issues).

Can she afford to do a private blood test? I am going for one this morning because even though I was sent to A & E on Monday they only tested the TSH and T4 which came back as 0.27 and 22 which doesn't not give me a good picture of what is really going on. They also took the blood in the afternoon which means it won't be accurate. I have a multi-nodular goitre and luckily mine has not developed into cancer or enlarged but I am always worried it will in the future.
My sister is a doctor knows everything type of personality and if they don't order it's not needed. The crazy thing is she's been having trouble swallowing and always feels like something is stuck, She going to end up like me.
