Has Bennewitz stopped selling Thybon Henning liothyronine? Can anyone pm me the details of a supplier who will accept an NHS prescription please.

It's possible that the German Pharmacies will no longer accept UK prescriptions due Brexit on Friday.

ThyroidUK's page about where to get prescrptions for T3 filled, your choice may now be limited to UK pharmacies :

Thanks Seaside Susie. None of them mention T3 though.

I just couldn’t find liothyronine or T3 or Thybon on the Bennewitz website, however I found it eventually by putting Thybon 20 Henning. It’s let me order so we’ll see what they say. I got an automated message but they usually follow up with an email. I’ll just have to wait and see.

Bennewitz is still supplying - I was able to get a prescription from a Consultant last week for 200 tablets. Bennewitz has notified me that my order is on its way.

I always scan and send a copy of my prescription by email, phone and speak to the pharmacist Torsten Spenke - he is available on Fridays and speaks English, and of course send the original as required

Just to add - my Thybon 20 Henning arrived yesterday (Thursday). I spoke to Torsten Spenke on Friday, so that was excellent service

Hi Fifteen,

I did as you suggested and scanned/emailed my prescription on Wednesday. Yesterday status changed to processed. Not yet posted my prescriptions as I emailed them to ask which address to send them to. Not heard back yet. Looks promising though.

There is a website bennewitz.com/ pharmacy or something similar - it will have the phone number and address. I am out and don't have the details with me.

Hi, I get mine from Tesco. I had trouble with UK liothyronine. My gp agreed to give me a monthly prescription on a named patient basis. Tesco was able to source it for me. It works very well. I do have to make sure I have a small amount in hand as delivery to Tesco can take a week to ten days. I have never had to buy it direct from Germany.

What make is it? I buy Thybon Henning as I am allergic to certain brands of Levo and Thybon has been really good for me.

I’m just going through breast cancer treatment and am really reluctant to add a different medication into the mix when Thybon has been doing a great job for me.

I get Thybon T3 from the CoOp Chemist. This is on prescription and I am given 3 months supply each time. However, there has been problems the last 6 months and I am having to wait at least a month for the CoOp to get a supply from their wearhouse. I, like you have problems with other brands, so this has caused a huge problem for me. My Doctors has now said that I can put in a prescription in a month earlier this time and we are hoping this will help. Not sure how it’s going to work further down the year though 😩
