Vitamins test results

Hi everyone.

As promised from my post last week, here are my vitamin tests results.

Folate 5.7ugl, normal range 2.9ugl

Vitamin D 63nmol/l , range 50 _ 200

Vitamin B12 39pmol/l , range 25.1 _ 165

So my vitamin D and B12 are still quite low despite a small increase from my last test in August.

I have been taking 6000 IU vit d + k2 spray per day. It's a 3000 IU spray and recommend to take 3 spray per day and I take 6 spray. So I presume I'm taking 6000.

I also take one pill per day of Terra Nova vitamin B complex which contains 50ug b12 and 200ug folate.

There was no Ferritin test available unless I did a full vit tests which I just can't afford at the moment as it's very expensive in Ireland.

Any advice?

As always, thank you very much for all your precious help.

Vitamin D is still too low.

How much has it increased since last tested?

Are you taking any magnesium as well?

GP will only prescribe to bring levels to 50nmol. But improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol may be better

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Test twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function

It’s trial and error what dose we need, with Hypothyroidism we frequently need higher dose than average

If vitamin D is low, B vitamins may be too. As explained by Dr Gominack

Your B12 and folate still look low

You might need to add a daily sublingual vitamin B12 for month or so

My vitamin D jas increased from 50.7 nmol to 63 from August.

There is some magnesium in the B complex but not a lot.

I am taking 6000 IU vit D plus k2 spray from better you.

It's a 3000 IU and the recommend 3 spray per day but I'm taking 6 spray daily.

So vitamin D is improving, suggest you stick on same dose and retest in 3 months

Many on here find taking magnesium helps

Lots of different types of magnesium available

If taking any magnesium supplements they should be minimum 4 hours away from levothyroxine

Magnesium often helps sleep. Best taken before bed or early evening if you take levothyroxine at bedtime
