Hi all.. I'm taking 4 metavive iv tablets twice a day, which is a total of 8 a day (520mg). Is this normal? I was referred to Metavive through my functional medicine doctor and was told that my dosage is according to my temperature. I have been monitoring my temperature and it is fine. But I was wondering considering I need about 2 bottles a month and plus my fmd isn't cheap, that is this a normal dose? Is anyone else on high metavive doses?

You need what you need and that may be different from someone else.

Temperature may be a guide but it's not the be all and end all. How do you actually feel?

Are you testing at all, what are your latest results for TSH, FT4 and FT3.

Nutrient levels optimal?

Adrenals good?

Best to look at the bigger picture, not just one part of it.

Aminaalam,

So 8 capsules of Metavive IV a day is a hefty dose. Has your Functional Doctor not guided you on how much to take? Did you start off with this dose? How long have you been on this? Have you tested TSH, FT4 and FT3 while you’ve been on this dose? Testing is normally done 6 weeks after being on one particular dose.

I’m currently taking 5 capsules of Metavive III. So this is about 2.5 capsules of Metavive IV. This isn’t a low dose either. Metavive IV is twice the strength of Metavive III. I may need a bit more at some point but even adding an additional capsule of Metavive III is a significant increase. Each time I do it I wait and see how I feel for at least a few days or a week.

If you are over medicated you would experience side effects like anxiety and palpitations for example. This can vary depending on the person. However, your current dose does concern me.

Not what you're looking for?
