How strange is this? Had bloods done in October 2019 and my tsh was 29. It was 89 a few months before and levo brought it down. I haven't taken any Medication since it being 29 in October 19 because i was waiting to see a specialist as i had bad reactions to levo.. (tissue swelling in my ear, ear infections.. migranes.. dizziness veritgo balance problems brain zaps etc. my t3 and t4 have always been in range. t3 higher side and t4 lower side but never come out of range. i went and saw a endo on the nhs who prescibed me t3 and i ended up with severe chest pains and liquid levo that i got the same reaction to when i take the tablets.
gone private and My private endo has just sent me a letter saying my tsh is now 9. ive been on no meds at all!!
He said the professor at biochemistry said something is unusual as my t3 and t4 are constantly in range. TSH went wild after both births of my children. Had thryoidist last year so he thinks i have a tsh resistance. and the reaction i get is because ive got enough hormones in my body and than im putting more in!
So confused.

Two conundrums here. First one to consider: is the TSH test used susceptible to animal antibodies other than human: eg rats, mice, sheep etc. Quite a lot of people have antibodies of this sort in their blood, which can interfere with TSH measurements (usually too high). So first I'd check TSH with another method to rule this out. Second, if that does rule out artefacts, then some TSH resistance is quite a plausible idea.
thats what my private endo has done. done a different test and sent it to a special hospital to make sure.. its come to 9... when it was 29 4 months ago. they are now diluting it.. no idea why.. t3 and t4 are in range.
TSH is not a thyroid hormone so does not cause any hypothyroid or hyperthyroid symptoms. T3 is the active thyroid hormone which controls nearly every cell in the body and it is T3 which causes the hypothyroid or hyperthyroid symptoms. Free T3 is the best measure of T3 levels available for use by cells.
You seem to have hypothyroid symptoms so the Free T3 level which is the cause of your problems. Yours may be in range but some people need it to be high in range or even above range to feel well.
