In September I had to change from Thiroyd to Thyroid-S due to supply issues.
I had just done my own medicheck tests just before changing.
TSH 0.009 (0.27-4.2)
Free T3 4.61 (3.1-6.8)
T4. 11.5 (12-22)
TGA. 122 (<115)
As my T3 was mid-range & I had heard that Thyroid-S was slightly stronger, I took the same 2 tablets once a day, that I had taken of Thiroyd.
On 18th Sep my GP referred me to several different clinics & consultants, one who asked for basic bloods to be run. I didn’t realise they were going to do full thyroid tests too, so had taken my 2 Thyroid-S tablets 3 hours before the blood test.
Unsurprisingly, my T3 came out high & freaked my new GP out completely. As I was about to see my new consultant for EDS, PoTS & MCAS, she was happy to let him deal with me though.
He understood about NDT & that just taking my tablets would cause false reports, but asked for a second test to be done to make sure I’m not on too high a dose still. Well it’s just come back & I am still slightly high on T3.
18/9/19 7/1/20
TSH (0.35- 4.94) <0.004. 0.004
Free T3 (2.9-4.9) 7.5 5.1
T4 (9-19). 11.6. 9.8
So I need to drop my does slightly, but to confuse things more, I had taken the last dose 24hours before the most recent test. (I’ve since read that I should have split my NDT dose into 2 the day before).
Soooooooo, after all that, should I drop by 1/4 or half a tablet, considering the 24hrs between the test might have made it a higher result??

My understanding is that Thyroid "S" is slow release - and that there is no need to split the dosage :-
I have read that when on NDT people can tend to " run " on a higher than range T3 during the 24 cycle.
The blood test and ranges were devised for measuring and monitoring the efficacy of synthetic T3 and T4 -
If you feel well on the dose of NDT you are on, I would suggest you stay where you are.
To please your doctor you might like to consider dropping a 1/4 grain before your next thyroid blood test.
I take 1 + 1/2 Thyroid "S" at around 4.00 in the morning and know if I want a blood test to please a doctor I'll need to wait a full day plus a couple of hours to see my T3 well in range.
I am with Graves Disease post RAI thyroid ablation and am much improved taking NDT. and I have no symptoms of overmedication,
You seem to be swapping and changing your dose a lot ... you need to be constant with your dose. For example when I started on Thyroid S I increased slowly at a 1/4 of a grain every few weeks. When you use NDT you go by how you feel and adjust the dose accordingly.
I haven’t changed my dose at all, other than being forced to change brands due to Thiroyd no longer being available.
I went up very cautiously when I started over a year ago, 1/4 tablet each jump with many blood tests.
I can’t go on symptoms alone, as I also have hEDS, PoTS & MCAS which have a lot of overlapping symptoms. I’m also autistic & typically, ever so sensitive to medications, which is making treating the other disorders ‘fun’. 🥴
Go by how you feel, not the blood work. I do have a blood test about once a year just in case, and the GP has written on the notes to leave me alone to sort any odd results out. Because my TSH is so low, I usually get the T3 thrown in. I know when I am too high as I get an odd internal shiver and too low my tinnitus goes silly.
Just check your vits are all OK too, as some low results can make you feel rough. Hug.
