Excessive selenium

Hi. Just wondering if anyone here has had experience of selenium excess and how long it took to rectify. I was prescribed 200mcg and of course I read it myself in almost every resource. I took it for a few months until my first appointment with my current doctor who questioned whether I'd ever had my levels tested. My blood level came back at 330 with the upper normal limit being 134. I would have had quite a high selenium diet for years with lots of nuts, eggs, mushrooms etc. so I don't believe I should have been supplementing. I didn't realise it had such a low therapeutic range and I'd love to know if anyone has had any experience of reducing their levels. I did a quick search before posting and I see a lot of people seem to have had difficulty taking it. I didn't but I have hair loss (but also under-medicated with low ferritin) and an occasional neuropathic sensation but not necessarily from selenium. I've always been a big fan of supplements and have spent a fortune but am really starting to question them all! Thanks. This is a fantastic website.
