Vitamin D, the answer to all ills!???

This came up in my recommended books today. Haven't read it yet but can get it free on Kindle Unlimited. I always thought that (as well as lack of sunshine etc) low vitamin D was a symptom, not a cause of being hypothyroid. I do think it's extremely irresponsible to tout vit D as a way to lose weight - almost as bad as doing the same for T3.

However, there's a good illustration in the introduction that applies to plenty of bad thyroid research too. If you give a group of people a very small amount of water every day, they will eventually die, just as if they were given no water at all.

Conclusion, water is useless as a cure for dehydration!!!

According to Dr Coimbra it is the cure for a lot of ills. There are quite a few books around now about the benefits of Vit D.

Hello Jnetti, I was just wondering if you got round to reading this? It has been on my to read list for a while but having now skimmed through it I have mixed feelings. Wondered what you thought?

I read some of it but he kept going on and on about how wonderful vitamin D is, the supposed cure for everything that it put me off. I don't remember finding any mention of thyroid problems affecting D3 levels either.

All in all he seemed more like a snake oil salesman than a genuine doctor who had truly researched the matter.

NO one thing is the cure for everything.
