Trying to figure out what’s going on

Hello,

I’ve written a post on here before but I didn’t have all my blood work levels. I’ve been printed my most recent ones for (reluctant) referral from GP to an endocrinologist.

August

TSH 0.26 (0.50-5.00) and was 0.68 in May

Free T4 17.4 (9.0-25.0)

Free T3 5.6 (3.5-6.5)

I had low ferritin for years which I not long ago had a infusion for results are now

Ferritin 120 (30-200) it was as low as 11 in February.

Vit D is 65 (50-140)

B12 is 515 (135-650)

Haven’t has folate tested.

Notes on bloodwork says Low TSH May occur with non thyroidal illness such as goiter, early hyperthyroidism or pituitary disease.

And I don’t believe I’ve ever been tested for graves or Hashimoto.

I have a multinodual bulky thyroid that shows homogeneous parenchymal exhotexture with 6 nodules, one in left side and 5 in the other but only small, biggest is 1.1x0.7x2.1cm and smallest 0.2cm. One is mixed solid and cystic (the biggest one) one is solid only 0.2x0.2 cm and the others are all cystic. I’ve had the biggest biopsied 5 years ago which was clear.

I’ve known about these nodules for 10 years when my thyroid played up during pregnancies. Always leveled back out once I had baby and have never been medicated.

My mum has hypothyroidism.

So my symptoms are:

Palpitations and inappropriate sinus tachycardia diagnosis by cardiologist and he says it’s systematic.

Hair loss

Hyperpigmentation on face

Insomnia

Recent weight loss of 10kg in 3 months since having iron infusion but overal Wright loss from 88kg in April to 73kg now.

Nausea

Diarrhoea

Breathless with minimal exertion

Sore/heavy muscles

Brain fog

Tired

Anxiety

Lack of appetite

Could this be thyroid related or something else I don’t know but I’m tired of trying to figure out what is wrong with me.

Thanks.

So you need TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested for Hashimoto's

TSI or TRab antibodies tested for Graves

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

If in the UK you can get these tested privately via Medichecks

Private testing for suspected Graves - TSI or TRab antibodies

medichecks.com/thyroid-func...

Persistent cough can be linked to dairy intolerance. Common with autoimmune thyroid disease

Gluten intolerance is extremely common too.

Thanks so much for replying, I’m in Australia but I think we can do private tests here I’ll just have to look it up.

Hopefully though the endo will request for them.
