Hi-I have been stable on Thyroid for some years now-just tried to order from usual supplier in Thailand but saying discontinued but can order Thyroid S instead. Can I do a like for like switch from Thyroid to Thyroid S? Currently on 4.5 grains. Also price has doubled from $74 to $159 for 1000 grains?
Any help gratefully received.

So the difference in hormone content per grain isn't much but when you multiply it by 4.5 there may be too much of a difference
Thiroyd x 4.5 = 157.5mcg T4 and 37.4mcg T3.
Thyroid-S x 4.5 = 171mcg T4 and 40.5mcg T3.
A straight swap may be possible or you may want to drop 1/2 a grain and see how that goes and increase gradually by 1/4 grain increments and see how you go.

According to that link there was a 300% increase in price of Thyroid-S in 2018.
I don't buy NDT so I'm afraid I have no idea, but if Sriprasit increased their price then I imagine all the suppliers raised theirs when restocking. If they still have old stock I suppose it's feasible that it may still be at the old price. However, I don't know any suppliers nor how competitive they are with their prices.
I have tried both and find Thyroid-S more potent so if stabilised on Thiroyd you may need a little less Thyroid-S.
Yes, the price of Thai NDT has jumped in the past year. I have no idea why - some claim there has been a shortage of raw material affecting the price. If all but one brand of Thai NDT have been discontinued, it's likely that the remaining drug - Thyroid-S - will become more expensive as people will have no choice but to pay.
I sincerely hope Thyroid-S will not be discontinued as well! It does not bode well, does it...a year ago, there were three Thai brands - TR, Thiroyd, and Thyroid-S, and now it seems only Thyroid-S is left...
