Hi everyone just to let you know I was awaiting phone call from doctor regarding my TSH was 0.081 others were within normal limits.the doctor has said I'm hyerthiord and to have a repeat blood test done mid october.she asked if I was getting any symptoms I said yes hot flushes/ sweating and feeling tired but waking several times during night to go to bathroom to pass urine.she said because my liver function tests were high GGT 363 and alinine aminotrasferase of 419 this could be throwing my thyroid out ? I'm due for urgent ultra sound on Monday 9th Sept of abdomen for liver.she did say if I am feeling unwell make appointment and she will start me on tablets for thyroid.i have read that thyroid can cause liver enzymes to be raised really high ? Can anyone confirm if they have had high liver enzymes due to thyroid ? Thank you for reading and any advise ,please read my previous question about thyroid posted the other week.

Have you had all the antibody tests done that were suggested in your last post ? Please re-read all the responses again - so much good advice. Yes liver enzymes can be raised due to thyroid issues - as mentioned in your last post and thread... 😊

An article on GGT that you might find of interest.

My liver enzymes are always in range (with one startling exception in 10 years that I'm convinced must have been lab error), but I'm hypothyroid not hyperthyroid.

When your doctor did thyroid function testing was Free T4 and/or Free T3 tested too?

It is perfectly possible to have under range TSH without being hyperthyroid. With just a TSH result you can't say anything very much at all about your thyroid health.

I wonder what treatment your doctor would prescribe with just a TSH to go on. I would suggest asking for a copy of all the results and reference ranges from your recent blood tests - not just thyroid-related but liver related and anything else that was done e.g. did you get a Full Blood Count done?

If you get a copy of the results and reference ranges you could then post them on the forum in a new post. Ask the receptionists to print them out for you, don't ask the doctor - and take proof of identity with you when you ask.

Are those blood results from the same blood test that showed your TSH to be 0.081? Because if so, you *aren’t* hyperthyroid.
