Gallbladder/Hashimoto/gastro problems link

Hi, I've been reading up about the link between gallbladder and liver problems and hashimotos. I have Hashimotos, have just started estrogen only HRT and have been suffering intermittent right shoulder pain during the night for the last 6months. I have also been suffering from an increase in gastro issues eg diorreah, wind, bloating and I think these are all linked. I am gluten free, have tried eliminating diary, soy, corn and tried low fodmap to no avail.

I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist in 3 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this? I want to make the most of my appointment.

I do believe there are well documented links due to lowered metabolism affecting the liver. Many of us have had the gall bladder removed - myself included. Well before the Hashi's diagnosis ...

How would a lower metabolism affect the live and gallbladder?

Because the liver is a very complex organ. When the metabolism is low due to being hypo then the work /efficiency of the liver is lowered. Raised cholesterol is a good example as are raised liver enzymes. The gall bladder is situated close to the liver and secretes bile to neutralise fats passing from the duodenum ... plenty of good articles out there if you wish to study more. 😊

Night time shoulder pain can be due to rotator cuff issues, which are also involved in the pathogenesis of carpal tunnel syndrome ie connected to hypothyroidism.

I was hospitalised way back with pancreatitis. All tests seemed fine. Eventually my Gastro surgeon who operated on me for Crohns - was called in to x-ray and after much toing and froing he decided to go in. The gall bladder was a soggy mess - no stones. I have been able to eat most things all of my life ... 😴 but choose to be careful. Says she who has just enjoyed a fab supper by the sea in Xania - whilst the sun tumbled out of sight ...

Right sided pain under right ribs into shoulder. So bad could barely breathe. Lasted hours at a time. Eventually in bout lasting 8 hours I called 999. Had gall bladder out within the week. Huge single stone. I eat what I like now.
