My iron levels are very poor, I’ve been taking iron prescribed by my go and I can’t cope. The stomach pains, stools like black tar and constipation.
I used to take Spartone but clearly since my iron levels are not even in the ranges it’s not been absorb by my body very well.
I’ve a balanced diet and look after myself but nothing’s working. Even the black pudding did nothing.
Also I’m taking Mayne pharma Liothyronine and I’ve a horrible metallic sick taste in my mouth and on off sickness in day. I’ve tried Sigma and Mercury pharma and the symptoms where worse.
Any other brands non dairy please that are well tolerated by others as I feel I’m giving up as can’t take the symptoms. People mention Thybon Henning can I source this through nhs? Help.

Thybon Henning 20mcg is only available on prescription. Usually a private prescription. This is MUCH cheaper than NHS T3. But not clear if will still be available if Brexit happens. An EU pharmacy can only dispense prescription written by an EU registered doctor
It may be possible to specify getting Thybon Henning on NHS as a "special request".
I’m not looking forward to the answer for the Thybon. Just hope we can get it. Seems like we won’t even be able to fly to Germany with our private prescription if what you say turns into a reality 🙁
Eating liver or liver pate once a week, plus other iron rich foods like black pudding, prawns, spinach, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily vitamin C can help improve iron absorption
I take all supplements and generally always have a good diet, I eat black pudding but can’t eat pate as I’ve to be carful with what I eat as I suffer from urticaria and have to try and control a low histimine diet which is not easy.
I tried various iron brands solgar, veridian etc but they never hold my levels. Vitamin c is always taken too.
I do not know where my antibodies were upon diagnosis.
Have had stomach flu for the last week and not had any supplements I also cut my t3 dose. And it’s still half this week and yesterday evening and last night I’ve had night sweats and felt on edge but wide awake, pulse could hardly find. So I did not take my t3 this morning and upped my Levo by 25mcg as I’m scared I’m not coping well on t3. It’s making me feel sick most the time.
I really am at a loss but feel awful, so tired after 2 nights awful sleep.
My iron results were posted previously and it’s below the range guidelines.
