brands
it very definitely isn’t
Many thyroid patients can not change brands easily
Government guidelines for GP in support of patients if you find it difficult/impossible to change brands

If a patient reports persistent symptoms when switching between different levothyroxine tablet formulations, consider consistently prescribing a specific product known to be well tolerated by the patient.

Physicians should: 1) alert patients that preparations may be switched at the pharmacy; 2) encourage patients to ask to remain on the same preparation at every pharmacy refill; and 3) make sure patients understand the need to have their TSH retested and the potential for dosing readjusted every time their LT4 preparation is switched (18).

Bobby25 you can also cut your 50's to get 2 x 25. Speak to Springfield Pharmacy Richmond on Thames. My scrip goes straight there and the meds are sent in the post.
Thanks I’m in south wales tho so they probably wouldn’t do that for me
Welsh prescriptions are legal across the UK. As are English, Scottish and Northern Irish ones.
Ask before assuming they won't.
they only don’t do wales I think it’s because of the free prescription here
Bobby25 when you are diagnosed with thyroid disease I am pretty sure your prescriptions are free wherever you are in UK, regardless of age. You cannot live without thyroid hormones
Not quite correct!
Only if the doctor signs to say you have myxoedema and require thyroid hormone medicines. That often excludes those with Graves disease on block-and-replace .
But the fact that prescriptions are always without charge ('free') in Wales does cause some administrative issues.
@ helvella thanks for that. Admin issues, were would we be without them 😀
