Hi guys,

So after crashing miserably I am back on track and feeling good. I have eltroxin and thybon as my prescription but pharmacist has said I can only get thybon. I want to have an emergency supply just in case. Can people pm me with their supplier and cost etc?

Thanks!

This page thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm... details where you can buy thybon (liothyronine) IF YOU HAVE A PRESCRIPTION.

It appears that you see some sort of problem with Henning Thybon. It might help if you explained why this is an issue?

Quite a number of people get on well with it.

No I have no issue with it all. I'm just concerned about running out and want back up. I like to have at least a month's back up to be careful. I spoke to my pharmacist and they can only get Thybon so if there is ever a supply issue I'd be in trouble just like nature throid and I dont want to go through that again

I may have misunderstood your question. Are you prescribed Eltroxin (levothyroxine) + Thybon 20 Henning (liothyronine)? Or, are you prescribed Eltroxin or Thybon 100 Henning (levothyroxine)? If you are prescribed Eltronin and have been offered Thybon 100 Henning instead you could try the Thybon.

Some generic levothyroxine is exactly the same as Eltroxin, see btf-thyroid.org/images/docu... . If your pharmacist can't get hold of Eltroxin you should complain to the license holder (details on the packet). They deny there are problems obtaining Eltroxin but I suspect they are trying to slowly discontinue it so that they can increase the price of the generic form (which is not subject to price regulation).
