We are aware that many people use versions of Internet Explorer that are older than version 10. If this is you, you are likely experiencing problems with HealthUnlocked's new platform. If this is the case you might want to download another browser.
I almost exclusively use Google Chrome. It is quick and easy to use and it updates itself automatically without you having to do anything. And it's free! I am experiencing relatively few problems compared to many with this site.
There is also Firefox, which I don't use now but have done in the past. You might find this works better than the IE version you are using if you don't like Chrome. It is also free and will prompt you to download the latest version when it becomes available.
I hope this helps some people who are experiencing problems. Unfortunately this doesn't help the people who can't get in at all but perhaps some of you will be able to pass this information on to people you know.
Thank you for bearing with us. Hopefully HealthUnlocked will have this all sorted out very soon. I know they are working very hard to do so.
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend

As a little addition; once you are on the Thyroid UK homepage (rather than the annoying general home page) book mark it and add it to your bookmark bar in your browser. This means you can just click on the icon on your browser bar and go straight to the Thyroid UK community instead of having to faff around. I hope this helps. It certainly is making things less frustrating for me

Just used Chrome to get on here and its working much better...Thanks D
Yep - used Chrome for a while - anything to make life easier!
Just to add - WE ARE STILL HERE! - having a few problems with the new site? bear with us (and our hosts HU).
As you've got here to posts (formerly blogs) - well done! if you can't remember how (I couldn't) one way, at the moment, is to click 'communities' above then if you choose 'Thyroid UK' you get to the more familiar looking screen with questions and posts. hope this helps. Jane (spareribs)

Be aware that if you use Outlook for email, Chrome can sometimes stop links in emails working properly if it si set as your default browser, but if you search the web there is a fix (but yo have to edit the registry). However, I'm a die-hard Chrome hater.
I have to have Outlook (I don't use it for external mail) as I am an IT trainer, but I don't like it (except in a corporate environment), but I know it can cause problems for people. OK if Chrome isn't the default browser,
I'd like to do the saving direct to the particular site but unfortunately although I have it set to keep me signed in on the health unlocked website that won't work so I have to sign in afresh every time I open the browser. Is that being sorted?
Yes, you will still have some problem but hopefully fewer than with some versions of internet explorer. Some people weren't able to log in with their browsers so couldn't do anything, they could only view.
Certainly I still have to login rather too often. But I have been finding it considerably better than over the weekend.
What exact problems are you still having?
Rod
I use internet explorer and although it wouldn't let me get on the site at first, it does now. I have never used anything else but IE and have no problem with other sites and the web in general, so what is special about this site that would require me to change to Chrome.
I recently listened to a BBC radio4 programme in which several I.T. experts warned against using the 'Save your Passwords' facility on Chrome, as they had serious concerns about security.
Mods., please move this to somewhere more appropriate if you don't like it here.
It's fine here I never use the 'save your password' facility on anything but it's good to warn people. With all these passwords we need these days, it is so tempting to click that box!
