I have PA and get B12 injections but for last 12 months have struggled. Sluggish in the morning and sleepless at night and gaining weight despite gym and trying to cut down carbs. Now weigh 11st8 and only 5ft4 - heaviest ever been.
My private medicheck test showed
TSH of 4.1 range 0.27 - 4.2
Free thyroxine 12 range12-22
T3 4.8 range 3.1-6.8
Thyroglobulin antibody <10 ( range <115)
Thyroid peroxidase 18.4 (<34)
VitD 68.5 range 50-175
Iron folate and b12 were ok as I supplement
I was told thyroid was normal. NHS tests have been similar but they do vary (tSH 2.8 to 4.6) but I am always told I am normal in range. So is a stricter diet the answer.

In the above link are your results of three years ago - thought it may help members reply ! How much VitD were you supplementing ? - as it would be better around 100+
Your thyroid is producing T4 - but as you can see it is at the bottom of the range and should be nearer the top. Once again your TSH is far too high and is around 2 in a healthy person.
Normal means in range - but it is where you are in the range that is key. I do not think a stricter diet will help - I think you may need to take matters into your own hands or consult with a Thyroid friendly Doc privately - through Thyroid UK.
Thanks Marz. I wonder why nhs doctors won’t tweak thyroid and just say you are in range so normal even though you are extreme ends and not optimal. Cost ? Or is there some other genuine consideration.
