Anyone else have overactive bladder? Could this be a cause of taking levo or even thyroid disorder itself?

Bladder issues
As in body messaging brain you need to pee, though might not have anywhere near full bladder, or as in needing to pee lots regularly? My bladder thinks it is full during the night, and wake up 4 times nightly to go to toilet, although not really needed...I associate it with my fibromyalgia diagnosis, ie could be undermedicated hypothyroidism. If there is lots of urine have you had your blood sugars /hba1c tested?
Also ive not heard of fibromyalgia but ive googled it and wonder how did u gwt diagnosed and what are your symptons please?
Yes ...years of all over pain, though some areas worse ( neck, shoulders, hips, knees, calves ...) that had been scanned( X-ray and MRI) , had nhs physiotherapy and acupuncture, private chiropractor and lots of blood tests to rule out other causes like arthritis/ rheumatism etc etc. Finally saw consultant rheumatologist who took very long case history then searched for paired pain points ( nearly shot of the bed with pain before he got past my knees) and diagnosed fibromyalgia. Altho the pain and stiffness was bad the ‘misfiring’ nerves re. my bladder seriously disrupts sleep. Adding T3 to my levo.( which I could never get above about 35% thru range) helped with the hip stiffness, and consequently helped with walking. While recent b12 injections seem to be affecting the bladder to the good ( early days yet and it’s only on the day of injection, that I wake up say twice rather than 4x to pee). Some practitioners (notably the late Dr. Lowe) believe that fibromyalgia is largely caused by undiagnosed or undermedicated hypothyroidism ( which I have had 14 years) but I tried his protocol of high T3 dosing , and didn’t get pain relief but got raised blood sugar.
Hi i've suffered the same problem for a while now. My Dr has prescribed solifenacin. It helps a little. Not sure if it's due to a thyroid problem as i am still currently undiagnosed but thinking that's maybe a symptom also.
Did they do any tests or tell u why it happens
My Dr doesn't know. I had an ultrasound of the bladder which came back normal. I am going to see a urologist privately as it's making my life quite restrictive now. What has your dr said? If anything
She had cytoscopy yesterday they thought internal cystitus but camera saw nothing so back consultant
I hope they can find the cause. Has no one prescribed medication? It did help me a little.
Noone suggested medication but if no reason they can find shell need something
Maybe you could ask the Dr for some medication. There's different ones they can try.
Thats good to know i just wondered why she developed this and if levo related but guess never know
I know. I'm hoping the urologist will be more helpful. I guess urine samples are normal too?
Yes and scans too hope u have some luck
Hi i have the same problem. So the gp won't investigate further. That's why I am going to see a private urologist. Hoping they might be more helpful. I thought maybe a symptom of hypothyroidism?
Not aware of it as a symptom for most of my hypo. , more when getting fibromyalgia. I’m ok during the day, it’s just night time.
I tried stopping my T3 for 10 days . Had constant feeling of wanting to pee.
Restarted because I this as I had the same experience prior on more than one occasion. ( stopped because of maybe not getting it after Brexit🙁)
Anyway now all well with my bladder !
We are all different I know but I am sure of the link with thyroid disease in my case
Do you have any resultswe can look at? Usually taking T3 can speed up getting any extra fluid that's been in your body. As you aren't on T3 then I'm wondering if for some reason your bloods are showing your thyroid is working much better so having a similar effect but on the other hand you sound as though this has been happening for a time.
I wish I knew but I am on levo and this has been a “fun” new condition of mine that started shortly after my Hashimoto’s diagnosis.
