Hi everyone! You are all a blessing and I am so happy to have a site such as this.

What would cause my Thyroperoxidase to continually go up from a 600 to 880?

My TSH is going down to a level that makes my dr think I should decrease (Levo).88mcg for a few days. Meanwhile, I have been having hair loss and feeling tired but not quite tired enough to sleep. I don’t feel full of energy (Hyper) I have just had a thyroid diagnosis in January so this is all new to me.

Also, can anyone direct me on adrenal cocktails recipes?

It just shows that you have recently had an autoimmune attack when part of your thyroid is destroyed and dumps hormones into your blood stream (lowering TSH and raising thyroid hormones for a short time). You can reduce levo yourself for a while if it helps but don't let your GPO reduce the prescription because when the attack is over you'll be more hypo and it'll be hard to get the amount increased again. You should have an early morning fasting blood test every six weeks with a 25mcg increase in levo each time until symptoms are gone and free t4 and free T3 are in the top quarters of their ranges - TSH doesn't matter much (but GP will think it does)

Thank you!

My T3 was 92 my & T4 was .82

Now: T3 3.4 & T4 is 1.3

How long will it take for my antibodies to go down? I was assuming they would start to slowly decline by now instead they are going up.

Meaningless without ranges. Is that free T3? I've never heard of range that went up to 92.

T3 Range 58-159ng/dl was a 92

T4 Range .70-1.8ng/dl was a .82

This second set of labs below was with a different clinic, different T3 measurements. * T measurements are all Free T3 & Free T4

T4 is now a 1.3- it went up, is it supposed to go up?

T3 is 3.4 Range: 2.3-4.2pg/ml

Yes, free t4 and free T3 are both suppose to go up. To start with: Your FT4 was 10.91% of range (very hypo) and your FT3 was 33.66% - higher than FT4 as is usual when first becoming hypo as your body tries to make FT3 to keep you going (but still very hypo). Now both are about midway in range: FT4 54.55% and FT3 57.89%, Still too low for most people to feel well, but getting better. You could do with another 25mcg increase, not a decrease. TSH should be under 1.

That all makes sense to me. Unfortunately I didn’t get that explanation from my dr. Could you speculate as to why she wants to lower my dose?

2 days after she lowered my dose my hair loss got better and I am not AS tired but still lethargic.

Because most doctors a) don't understand the endocrine system b) don't understand what thyroid hormones are c) think TSH is the only thing that matters. Not everyone feels well at the same dose. Hair loss is often caused by low ferritin

Never let your doctor dose by the TSH. It's not even a thyroid hormone. He should be testing at least the FT4 as well as the TSH.
