Bad headaches

Hi my dose was recently dropped from 2 1/2 grains to 2 1/4 grains of ndt due to my t3 going over range. I was also put on bio identical hormones as my Endo thinks some of my symptoms are lack of hormones. I am now on holiday and have felt quite unwell terrible headaches, raised heart rate, shakey etc so I stopped the bio identical hormones. I felt better over the next few days so put it down to them. But it’s come back again been awake all night with bad headaches a constant buzz and tingling hands! Any ideas

How far over range was your T3? May be the drop wasn't enough. May drop another quarter and see if that helps but remember you have still the higher dose in your system but you could also be best inbetween the two.

Hi haven’t got access to results but I think it was around 7.3 and top of range I think was 6.8. I didn’t have these headaches as bad as this before I dropped down

Something not quite right but can't put my finger on it at the moment. Your symptoms looked like over medicated but dropping down isn't helping and is it fair to say new symptoms? Tingling hands could be low B12 and the buzz sounds asthough could be tinnitus, the bane of my life and the suggestion for that isalso low B12 so a recurring theme but what appears to be a sudden onset. See if you can find out more about B12 and see if you have any other symptoms but I'm struggling g to see have the change has been so rapid. Hopefully someone else may have ideas to help you. How long have you been having the headaches?

Also had left flank pain and frequent urination. I did end up in a Turkish hospital they took full bloods all ok but not of the thyroid

I’ve had a low grade buzz for awhile but these headaches came on while I’ve been on holiday

Headaches are common with T3 adjustments, or any hormones come to that. If your sex hormones are deficient, they will need replacing, as all hormones work together.

My thyroid meds only started to really work well after starting bioidentical HRT several years ago.

Shame it is spoiling your holiday. Perhaps leave things until you get home, when you can reassess things more clearly.

Yes I’m all over the place at the moment

HRT can be initially challenging to poor adrenal gland function until hormones level out. In which case it could account for your shakiness & raised heart beat.

I stopped the hormones 3 days ago and felt better but it’s come back in again!

I really think you should get checked out properly as we don't get head aches for nothing, usually something seetstgem off but I thing this possibly isn't thyroid related so best get everything checked out as I think you did the right thing lowering your dose so this may be connected to your previous issues and our bodies are sometimes too complex and we need extra help. Better be safe than sorry. Let us know how you get on. Hope it's something easily sorted.

Good plan! I hope he sorts things out for you. Just had athought-have you always had the same brand of medication? Just wondering if that is somehow linked in with bloods all over the place. Whether it's a filler problem.

I've just looked back over all your posts and see your dosage has been all over the place but can't explain why. I really hope someone can sort it for you, it's not been a good time overall.

If the headaches started when you reduced the dose, could you not try putting it back up again to see if they go away? Some people just need their FT3 over-range. And it wasn't that much over-range, was it. :)

I didn’t feel good over range but a bit scared to as still in turkey

OK, so perhaps you do need a further reduction. It's all trial and error. But, as suggested, you should get your B12 tested as soon as possible.

It was tested at last bloodwork and it was ok could have been bit higher I think it was 516

No. So, I think if it were me, I'd try dropping to 2 grains. :)

You're welcome. :)

You can always go up again, if that doesn't suit.
