Events and circumstances have taken their toll. Currently even more stress than normal...the external kind that you have no control over.
Something about me feels worse than normal. New developments in the sense of dealing with new first thing phenomenon is something extra to deal with.
Last week felt very wobbly, literally.
Reaction to eating continues. Feeling very sick after finishing meal. Light heated, dizzy...
My wonderful GP has retired.
He seems to be in the book again but only taken in for two monthly intervals, two days per week... Not having proper access hardly helps. The other GP's are just not on the same page so there's no point in seeing anybody else!
New appointment with phlebotomist next week. Extensive blood tests authorised by my terrific GP... I will post the results and ask for advice and impressions from the expert folk on this forum...as it will be a while before I get to see my GP again and could do with some help. Feet very, very lack lustre.
Many thanks,
Poppy the ๐

Hi Poppy - I have just read your excellent response on the FibroAction Forum. I was unable to reply as I am restricted - I tried to send a PM but again no go in spite of us both being members here !
I do hope your post remains unchallenged as my posts about testing for vitamins and minerals as well as advocating for the correct thyroid testing were the cause of my restriction. I also advocated that members requested test results so they could monitor their progress ! I have sent a PM asking for the type of Restriction imposed but after three weeks no explanation. This is truly a shocking situation and something should be done as I know others have suffered the same fate. What are they fearful of ?
Really hope you soon feel stronger ... and keep on posting on FMAUK - although I don't see the same positive action there as we do here ... but I thought it worth a try as I'm sure you do. ๐ Apologies for posting here but there was no other way...
Praise from such a knowledge compatriot as yourself is praise indeed! You are too kind.
In the end the best weapon we have to wage war and win this fight or at the very least give it a jolly good try is to use our brains and logic....If I'm not entering the realms of Dr Spock and Start Trek!
If we follow just Hippocrates advise that all disease starts in the gut, we can't really go wrong... It's just all the red herrings along the way and all the cocktail of unnecessary drugs and medications that get thrown at us! It tends to cloud the issue some of the time.
I find the excellent American Dr Mark Hyman's mantra on nutrition an excellent starting point
But how are you? You Rebel you!
How are you coping with this Africa sweltering heat in Cyprus?? Scoffing ice cold red water melon I bet!!
We are very warm in Crete and all is good. Getting older and more grumpy but keeping as fit as possible. ๐ Swimming is my saviour now that walking a long way is not comfortable.
Yes I like Hyman too .. along with a few others. Easy to eat healthily here and inexpensive when eating out - we are surrounded by good basic tavernas ..
Hope you are making progress. Wishing you well. Thanks for responding ...
Aahhhh Crete....not Cyprus! Ah well put that down to the Fibro Fog!! All that natural, gorgeous Vitamin D you are producing by the bucket load!
On the subject of 'old and grumpy'... I see it slightly differently! Old is really Wisdom Attained.... Grumpy is really no longer willing to apologise for one's own intellect and accomodate the ignorance and stupidity of others, because we've seen it all before! So here's to Grumpy!
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you say about how well you can eat in the culture and soul where you are living!
Well, it's a hot, relaxed Sunday, my favourite day of the week...my lowering cortisol day of the week! Everything in my mind grinds to a halt on Sundays. I am looking forward to eating a delicious 'Piel de Sapo' from the fridge- the lovely rugby shaped, green melon aptly named 'Toad's skin'...putting my feet up in the shade...and playing with our new kitten - she has a new miniature harness to wear to keep her safe.
Sadly my magnificent irreplaceable companion, my beautiful intelligent Poppy had to be put down in February and it's been a very sad time ever since. After some difficulty finding the right cat, we have now got this delightful 14 week bundle of fun, love and mischief! 'Mixa Bella' pronounced 'Misha Bella'...which translates out to Beautiful Cat!
Picture attached.
Hoping to visit you one day in you little spot if Heaven...the thought of Mediterranean warm water swimming has lowered my cortisol even further! You lucky ducky!
Much love to you both,
Poppy ๐ xx...
Will have to send photos separately as I can't see how to do it on a reply.
You possibly know by now that the pics and threads have been removed as someone complained that cats were not appropriate. Anyway as you know I cannot PM you but it has been suggested by Admin that you could send me a PM and if it goes through then I should be able to reply to you and give you my e-mail address so you can send me a pic - if you think it appropriate ! Hope I didn't bring negative karma from the Fibro Forum ....
