Did you leave a gap of 12 hours between your dose of T3 and the test? Was it as early as possible and a fasting one?
If not your results could be wrong.
Don't panic because the blood tests were introduced along with levothyroxine which is T4 alone. Therefore if we add T3 to T4, take T3 only or take NDT, blood results cannot correlate. It is how 'we feel' on particular doses.
No, I forgot to forgo the T3 prior to the test, thanks for the reminder.
I was surprised as I feel quite normal on this dose. Not losing weight, sleep like a log. No adverse effects. Heart rate is slightly up at 75 resting, but 'normal range' on BPM is anything up to 100 per minute.
Thought I'd check in and share with you all.
My tennis and golf elbow have totally disappeared along with my shoulder problems. Ever since I've been taking NDT this has all subsided.
I have to take T3 as I was gaining weight on NDT alone. I'm still overweight, but not gaining anyone and have something of a normal life again, eight years on....
I take Extended release T3 only and feel great. Resting heart rate is between 59 and 65 beats per minute (I do a lot of exercise), losing weight is possible but takes work, sleep well and don’t fall asleep in the afternoons like I used to on T4. My doctor just recognises that my FT3 is abnormal.
I'm glad you're feeling great on your T3 but I thought you might find the following of interest:-
One of Thyroiduk's advisers (now deceased) was an expert in the use of T3 and he himself took 150mcg in the middle of the night so nothing interfered with its uptake.
He stated that a one daily dose was best as T3 then saturated all of the T3 receptor cells (I believe we have millions), and that one dose lasted between one to three days as it sent out 'waves' throughout the day.
I am not medically qualified but had the struggle many on this forum have.
I take it twice a day, 12 hours apart. You can only get it on prescription from a compounding pharmacy. There is one in the UK but I get mine from the USA. PM me for details.
