Very low TSH - T4 and T3 great levels

I would be very grateful if someone can help a bit here. Taking Levothyroxine 50 mcg on the mornings, no food also taking Liothyronine Sod 10 mcg divided into doses morning and afternoon. I'm feeling much better than before...

I tried, natural hormones, Synthroid, Levo by itself and none of those worked...I didn't convert T4 into T3...but now it seems to be working. My concern is that on Tuesday, I'm seen my endocrinology and he will not be happy with the number of my TSH too low...beside my adding back the Levo after being on T3 alone for over 4 months..

So any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Do you mean the endo put you on T3 alone ( on 10 mcg only?), but you felt you needed to add back 50 mcg levo? Your low TSH will be the result of being on T3 alone, and might have been lower till you added levo.back. These are all tiny doses for hypothyroidism; I notice your ferritin level is extremely low...should be 70 plus, even 100-130. What about your folate, vit d and b12 levels? All 4 levels need to be optimal for good thyroid health and notably conversion...i’d give the low ferritin a priority before any further T3 or levo. juggling, as when sorted you might find thyroid problems improve. Have you any other results to share?

Yes, I was on Cytomel alone for few months but I wasn't feeling well so I decided on my own to try and add Levo since I had it already. My TSH was flagged before when I was on T3 alone for been to hight, this was in January. And now it is too low ...I added T4 a bit over two months ago. I'm hypo and flips to hyper, also have hashimotos. Two months ago I was totally hypo now I'm totally hyper...okay, thanks for the information on ferretin, is that fix by adding iron rich food?

Unfortunately I don't have more test done that could be helpful because my family doctor that did any test I asked moved and the endo refused to do unnecessary testing because it is waist of the tax money payers, yes ridiculous but at least he is allowing me to get T3 Very sad but true.

May be worth getting private lab tests for vits/ mins etc that your dr. won’t do. I doubt your dr. will help with your ferritin level, but it’s so low in range you should ask for further tests re Anaemia perhaps. Mine fluctuates/goes down low , but more like 44 ( on 13-150 range, your range is a lot higher, so yours is proportionately a lot lower), but I use ferrous fumarate 210 mcg supplements and eat black pudding to get it to 70-100 ug/L range. Your fluctuating TSH is due to the Hashimoto’s ‘flares’, I hope your endo is not just treating to the TSH number. Have you tried a gluten free, even dairy free, diet for say 3 -6 months to see if you can decrease your autoimmune antibodies?

Thanks a lot for your help, I make my own liver pate and that help a lot. Yes, I'll see how to get the testing privately. And you are correct I had a major flare this last month. I'm AIP so yes, eliminating all the possible triggers, doing it for two months now.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Algarrobo, If you are really worried take 25mcg Levo one day and 50 the next. Leave the Liothyronine alone it sounds like its working. And remember Endo's are complete morons, just give them lip service so you get your script and do what makes you feel good. If you have to, you can privately import what ever you need to supplement the NHS supplied dosage. If the endo starts telling you, your hearts going to burst and your bones are going to dissolve, they are a complete quack doctor and you dont want to go back. Unless you totally abuse thyroid drugs you will be fine. In fact in terms of thyroid uptake you a so much better where you are (TSH .07) than at the other end of the spectrum.

Thanks a lot! I totally forgot that that alternating doses could help. I'll try that and see if it will help my TSH... Thanks again.
