Soy isoflavones in menopause tablets aren't safe. Soy is bad if you're hypothyroid, unless it''s a fermented food such as tempeh, tamari, & natto. Perhaps try adding these to your diet, or ask your GP about bioidentical HRT.

Peggymae-18,

Good advice from BadHare. Otherwise you could try Wellsprings transdermal creams.

Have you had sex hormones tested ?

No I haven't had a hormone tested never been mentioned to me by the doctor. I have put 2 stone on just trying very hard to lose weight.

A natural progesterone cream might be better. Soy is one of those foods known a goitrogenic that exacerabates thyroid issues. I cannot touch the tinyest amount of soy with out having to go to bed for a couple of days. I would advise against drinking the milk as well.

Hi Hidden,

can I ask what your symptoms are when you eat soya?

I am trying to find out why I (Hypothyroid/Hashimotos) have reoccurring headache/nausea spells that last a day and then go away.

They have been increasing ever since I started gluten free and dairy free , and now I’m thinking it might be a connection to soya in some vegan products.

So I am wondering if a small amount of soya (in products such as vegan chocolate) can cause a headache/nausea attack. I generally stay off consciously having soya products , but they are in many dairy free vegan products, so sometimes slip through.

I think the love affair with all things soy in todays "foods to save the planet" is going to come back and bite big time a few years down the line. 🙄
