NDT & DHEA

I'm looking for some advise please. My Endo is taking me off Levo and is putting me on NDT 1 grain twice a day and 25mg of DHEA for a 2 month trial period. I do not have my levels to post, awaiting in the post, but I do know my DHEA level is 1 but don't have the levels. Does my thyroid levels have to optimal for my adrenals to work, is it the other away around or do both thyroid and adrenals have to be optimal to feel well again? I can hardly walk with exhaustion, terrible weight gain and freezing cold to the bone. It's a private prescription but there seems to be a lack of NDT available but I've been offered 1/2 grain would I see a difference on this amount? Have been lots of info on here but I've got myself in a bit of a muddle! Thanks

You say, 1 grain twice a day . How much levothy did you take?

100 mcg a day.

Yes, I called them today and another pharmacy listed on the above link.

They have only 1/2 grains for every brand they dispense? How odd.

That's all they have in stock, they are unable to say when they will get 1 grain in due to a shortage.

Yes, that's right.

You did not say which "make" of NDT you were given.

The excipients (binders, fillers colours etc) do vary in all makes.

Thank you, I havent received the order yet, the prescription was for nature Throid.

I think that you would be much better off ditching your private endo and sourcing your own blood tests and NDT without a prescription.

Have the script written to equal one grain ie take 2 tablets per day

The pharmacy was going to do that but I could not afford to pay for 2 lots of meds on top of the Endo charges.
