Thyroid test

Hi all could you please help me out here I pushed and eventually persuaded my Gp for a full thyroid test including thyroid antibodies/ free T3 /serum folate/ B12 / ferritin/ vitamin D/ Tsh 4

So my question is all of the test have been put on separate forms for me to take to nhs path lab

If I turn up at hospital first thing tomorrow morning after fasting all night will the path lab check all of what they have been asked to check or will they just check a few and presume the t3 test is okay

The only reason in asking is that I read some where that sometimes not all is checked

Thank you for any help I just don’t what this screwed up after pleading so long with Gp

Many laboratories over rule GP requests

If TSH is "normal" they may not do FT4 or FT3

But you may be lucky

Thank you for your reply so been thinking about this all day at work seems all the blood request are on separate forms I was thinking maybe have some done tomorrow and the rest next week space them out I know it will take longer for results but I can check on line to see when each test results are put online and done hope that makes sense

Only thyroid TSH, FT3 and FT4 need doing early morning and fasting

Vitamins and antibodies can be done any time of day

Ferritin might need to be fasting

Okay thank you for that

If you're going to space them out, make sure you do TSH, FT4 and FT3 at the same time.

The reason being, doing those 3 tests together from the same blood draw will tell you how well (or not) you convert T4 to T3.
