Multivitamins aren't worth the money, don't bother. They don't contain enough of anything to help if we have low levels or deficiencies, they tend to contain the cheapest and least absorbable forms of active ingredients, and very often contain things we shouldn't take unless tested for and found to be deficient, i.e. calcium, iodine and iron. If they contain iron then the absorption of everything else will be affected as iron should be taken 2 hours away from any other supplements and medication, but 4 hours away from thyroid meds.

Test and supplement what you need, recommended tests re Vit D, B12, Folate, Ferritin.

The following should be taken 4 hours away from thyroid meds - iron, calcium, magnesium, Vit D.

Everything else - 2 hours.

My holistic practitioner is wondering why these have to be so many hours apart as she says what if you eat foods with these vitamins in or go in sun and get vit d that way straight after taking levo? Her supplements are all natural and contain no chemicals or plastuc coatings

Going in the sun is entirely different. The vitamin D from sun is not combined with other ingredients to make pills, capsules, or whatever. And it does not enter the stomach where it (whether the vitamin D itself or the other ingredients) could interact with the thyroid hormone you have swallowed.

All supplements are "chemicals" - that is, compounds of the naturally existing atoms/elements of the universe.

I usually take all vitamins/minerals at lunch as some have to be taken with food. It's less bother I find when we get into a routine.
