Looking for confirmation

Hi! I am 33 and was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism (TSH =7.1; T3 and T4 normal) and have been on 75mcg levothyroxine for a week. Hypothyroidism was identified as party of a routine check up-I did not realize there was anything wrong, but now I feel so much better than I did before! Less irritated, getting more done, less confused, happier, etc. Small things like washing dishes had seemed overwhelming, but suddenly daily tasks and just living seems so much easier!

I am just looking for confirmation that this good feeling is not all in my head. I am so hopeful that I will continue feeling this way! Any input or similar stories would be very comforting. Thank you!

No - that’s exactly it. You KNOW when you feel well again. For me, it was that I suddenly wanted to be out and doing things - rather than laying on the settee like a beached whale. I didn’t enjoy doing things before I got close to the correct medication. It was like flicking a switch! 🤸🏿‍♀️🥛

No it's not in your head, some people can and do notice an early improvement on starting their Levo, although not everyone does of course. We are each individual in how we respond, and of course, how ill we had been and/or other conditions we have. However, it is also perfectly possible that you may notice things become less good over time, and some symptoms return - but please know that this is perfectly normal and almost always is telling you that a dose increase is required. Hence why 6 wkly blood tests and dose adjustments as necessary, are provided, until you are optimally medicated.
