Help for itchy, dry skin.

My skin has always been very dry, but has changed over previous months, feeling much more dry and uncomfortable with patches of eczema developing. (Am hypothyroid). On friend's recommendation have been using Equimins Udder Cream - 1 kg Tub - Eqs0367. It's actually for horses but is a non-greasy cream with centrimide (bactericide) plus aloe vera, zinc, castor oil and tea-tree oil. Very soothing.

I know this is going to stupid but I am speaking from experience. some years ago I had dermatitis on my hands it itched so bad I couldn't stop itching it sometimes until it bled, I went to the doctors when it was at its worst he prescribed steroid creams which would sometimes make a difference but mostly didn't. I remember one time offering my hand out to shake a hand and they looked at my hand and said I would rather not.

the more you scratch it the worst it gets I had to stop scratching it and after a couple of weeks it had cleared up.

It sounds wonderful! Where can you buy it? But, at the risk of sounding stupid, I didn't know horses had udders…

Just google it. My local Quilt Shop sells the one in a tub with cow pattern on it 😄

Isn't a mare a horse? A female horse. So, the mammalien glands of mares are called udders?

Mares have teats for their offspring to suckle. They can get dry and chapped hence the cream. Lots of human and horse treatments seem to work on each other 😊

Yes, I understand that perfectly, but that wasn't the question.

Baba appears to be telling me that a mare isn't a horse. As I understand it, a mare is a female horse, a stallion is a male horse and a foal is a baby horse. But, they're all horses.

I was also asking if the mare's teats are called udders.

I do not dispute that the same cream can work for both humans and horses, it was the vocabulary I was questioning.

And I was just confirming that mares teats arnt known as udders. Just making a comment as an equestrian enthusiast. Horses are horses yes but not all have teats 😁
