Hi , sorry new to this forum posting. I have had a few crazy months . I am a 28 y/old male That would excercize regularly . I ran into some issues last june. I would randomly experience a ‘panic attack’ at the time i had no clue that it was anything out of the ordinary . I was preparing to leave the house and experienced an increased HR and became clammy. I feared it was a heart attack i laid down and after 10 minutes it was gone. I beleived it was caffeine so i cut it out however after another month It happened aggain. It happened a 3rd time at the gym and then again a month later at work.
I experienced frightning symptoms. My vision was irregular , lights and colours became very bright if felt as though i was under the influence. I waited several hours and it was not getting better . I went to emerg and two days in a row they brushed it off as dehydration. The third day of this experience I went to my family doctor . It was eventful because i wanted everytgibg to go back to normal i felt as though i was going crazy based on my feelings.
The doctor offered some contacts for therapy and offered anti depressants and etc. I refused and left. As i was leaving the doctor asked about thyroid blood tests . I steped back into the room for some paperwork and off i went.
I did my first blood test with 5.0 tsh which was above the range here in canada .05-4
I went back to doctor still with symptoms and was sent off again
Blood test two. Tsh 5.7
Blood test three 6.2
Blood test four 8.9
Finally after several visits and knowing i have a few family members with thyroid issues i was given 25mg synthroid.
6 weeks later tsh was further elevated so i started 50mg synthroid
6 weeks later blood test showed tsh 7.4
He has bumped me to 100mg of synthroid and said to come back in 12 weeks as it seems to be coming down.
My FT4 is 11 range is between (9 -19 pmoi/l)
- ft4 has been constant at 11
Thyroglobulin antibody was 261 <40 kIU/L
Ft3 4.1 range 2.6-5.8 kiu/L
My vision is back to normal, i have no anxiety attacks or anxiety (it has been 6 months) . However my blood pressure has been high. I have a ringing in my ears (off and on) and i experience weird heart palpitations when i first lay down for bed. To be honest even with these remaining symptoms I am so thankfull to be feeling closer to 100%.
I feel once you are persistant with these doctors they look to other things than anti depressants. I was offered them on three seperate occasions ( i have never been anxious or deprressed)
Anyways hope the best for my people going through this . It truly is a daily battle but it gets better!
