Hi there - my last 2 TSH tests were 3.98 / 3.93 then I had one taken privately on Tuesday at 3.77. Range cut off 4.2. However I have every symptom of underactive thyroid ( apart from swollen neck but I have neck pain) but can’t get treatment. Also it runs in my family, autoimmune disease. I’m 47 and have been suffering with fatigue, weight gain for no reason, cold intolerance, insomnia, vertigo, hair loss, brain fog and muscle pains since all this started.

Also get B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested. Everything has to be optimal.
You also need the FT4 & FT3 tested along with Thyroid anti-bodies TPO & Tg. Rarely are all done in the NHS so if you are able to have tests done privately through Thyroid UK - click onto About Testing in the menu in the link below ...
Also add B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD. They too need to be optimal. Your symptoms could be a mixture of low levels of all the above ...
Essential to test vitamin levels and supplement these to bring to optimal levels
Then TSH frequently rises so you can get treatment
Both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies should be tested too
