I’ve been thinking about raising my vitamin levels by taking digestive enzymes. I’ve got Hashimotos, gluten intolerant. I eat v healthily but I have to supplement iron zinc folate vit b’s magnesium. I was wondering whether anyone has tried enzymes and got their levels up. There seems to be different ones for different purposes eg digesting protein or vegetables. Would appreciate advice about which ones have worked for you. Thanks v much as ever to the good folks on here

Enzymes are proteins which if you take by mouth will not survive the enzymes in the stomach (pepsin, trypsin) which degrade protein to its constituents. Few if any proteins taken by mouth survive to work further down the body.
It's effective for protein. There's no set dose, so you have to experiment by taking one with meals that include protein. The next day, take two. Increase daily until you feel a burning or very warm sensation in your stomach. Once that happens, decrease by one & that's your dose. I use capsules because tablets have too many binders to make them hard.
