End of sleepless nights?

Would like to share this - hope it may help others...After about 8 years if disturbed sleep- waking up every 2-3 hours or not being able to sleep until 3 or 4 am, the last month I have actually been able to sleep 5-6 hours and a few times even 7 hours- it had been such a relief.

This change coincides with me starting B complex supplements and magnesium. Hope I've hit on the key for me- may be worth a try for others

Many find B vitamins, and/or vitamin D and/or magnesium all help

This helps explain why

Glad it worked for you. I have the same problem but it didn't work for me

Me too Foggy and one of the things that has helped me in addition to b complex in morning & vit D before 2pm is to take magnesium and zinc at night. I now get 5-6 hrs sleep whereas previously it was 3-5 hrs.

Thanks for sharing your success Crete. Gives us all hope.

Good luck All

Can you take B complex in the morning? When do you take thyroxin?

I take thyroxine at 6:30-7:30 and B complex about 9am & vit D around 2pm. Magnesium & zinc before bed

Same for me - but I take Bcomplex and vitD together in the afternoon - hope this isn't a problem?

I don’t know about interactions but B12 like vit D can stimulate the body & keep you feeling awake & energetic so I think the earlier the better but vit D has to be at least 4hrs away from thyroxine & with a fatty meal. B complex with food I think. But I’m not an expert like many others on this network.

I tend not to take anything close to thyroxine in the morning apart from vit C

Be careful to only take B vits by afternoon as they stimulate and keep you awake which I discovered the hard way. Definitely magnesium at night...

Yes - I always remember my thyroxine but tend to forget after my mid day meal and take B and D later - must set alarm I guess - thanks for the reminder!!!

I don't take B vitamins for at least 5 days before a blood test. "More patients are taking the dietary supplement biotin, which could be throwing off a number of test results from thyroid cancer to Graves’ disease." endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

I take my levothyroxine at nite time. My last meal tends to be around 4pm,so it works well for me

I've also read that levo is absorbed better at nite, as our metabolism slows.

I'm confused. I read that B vits are best taken at night for good sleep - although I take B12 at lunchtime and have started Biotin due to hair loss. I seem to get reasonably good sleep for a few months, then a few months of insomnia, then sleep again. My sleep is always disturbed by needing to pee every few hours, unfortunately. This is despite taking very strong cannabis oil for Crohn's before bed, which should knock me out.

In fact my symptoms, including sleeping/insomnia, tend to be a few of this for some months, then a few of the other for a while, then a few of something else. And on it goes. Trying to get a grasp of it all is making me crazy.
