Which sort of iodine test was that?

And do you have the actual result - with reference range?

A significant source of iodine in the UK is dairy food.

Was it the non-loading iodine urine test offered by Genova Diagnostics?

Or was it the loading test where you take iodine before the doing the test?

Here is the thread healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Her result is 225 (100-199) so a little over range.

Does she drink quite a bit of milk? Non-organic cows milk and yogurt contain a fair bit of iodine. What about white fish - haddock and cod - both have good amounts of iodine.

Take a look at the list of iodine rich foods here and see if she's getting a lot of iodine from food source

bda.uk.com/foodfacts/Iodine...

Did she have all the tests recommended in this thread healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Could any medication/hormones she is taking be affecting her iodine level? That's something you could Google - "Does XXXX affect iodine levels in the body"

Thank you 🙏..she only had almond milk ,but because she’s bed/ house bound she eats loads of yoghurt from the tubs for ease for meals so maybe that’s it..she also has trigger point steroid injections and I’m not sure if that can raise iodine..yes I’m working through the tests with her as suggested..is a finger prick test sufficient or is it better too send a tube full? Does medicheck accept tubes or just finger prick samples? Thank you as always for you’re help and hope..

Medichecks offer venous blood draw kits, and I think they might be able to offer a home phlebotomy option. Certainly Blue Horizon offer the home phlebotomy service. But if she can manage a fingerprick test then they are reliable. Each microtainers requires 0.8ml of blood.
