So I recently switched to NDT and overall it didn't go too well. I read that one thing that can cause problems is low iron, and my results seem sub optimal, especially for a man.
Ferritin 74 (20-345)
Total Iron 71 (50-180)
TIBC 255 (250-425)
Saturation 28% (15-60)
According to what I've read, men should be at least 110 on total iron and saturation should be 35-45%. Rt3-Adrenals said that saturation needs to be minimum of 30% for success on t3 medication.
My doctor did write me a prescription for iron tablets today, but I wanted to get feedback from anyone in here with experience getting their iron up.
Also the TIBC is low when it should normally be high in this scenario I believe, although I read that's not terribly uncommon, but should it effect how I supplement?
