Wive’s Blood Test

My wife is having a blood test this Saturday morning, she takes her Levothyroxine last thing at night, when should she take the last dose?

There should be a 24 hour gap between last dose and test. She can miss the night dose and take after test and night dose on the same day.

Some people take a Full Week's dose once weekly, so you don't have to worry.

Technically to leave 24 hour gap (rather than 36 hour gap)

Delay Thursday evening dose of Levothyroxine until Friday morning

Delay Friday evening dose until after Saturday morning blood draw

Take Saturday evening dose as per normal

If this is a postal kit test ......don't do it on a Saturday.....delay until Monday

If taking any supplements that contain biotin stop these 3-5 days before test

If testing iron levels and taking iron supplements, stop these a week before

Blood test is best done as early as possible in morning and fasting to give highest TSH
