I wouldn't hesitate to use it. I will soon be in a position where I will need to use T3 past the date on the pack. There is a chance it might not be quite as potent as in-date tablets but that's about all.

If I discovered a stash of 2017 T3 I'd welcome them like the long lost best friends they are, lol. I'd definitely take them; for many tablets, short use by dates are more a commercial rather than a medical necessity. In any case, it's because manufacturers have performed the original testing of durability and safety on the use by periods the market is used to seeing, therefore can't guarantee beyond that because they haven't tested; but it's not to say that had the testing been carried out, the meds wouldn't have proved safe and effective. The FDA carried out large scale testing on the $$$$$$'s worth of stocks held by the US military and found many to be both safe and effective years many after their dates - obviously not things like insulin.

Well I have enough to last a while. Then maybe next year I can buy fresh ones unless I notice an improvement then I will use what I have

If I could remember well enough to add things up, I think I've been using out of date T3 longer than I've taken within date T3. I'm still here and it still works.

That's good to know

Have you noticed out of date weaker?

No I haven't, but I would increase my dose slightly if I did.

I've managed to cut mine into quarters so will stick to 5mcg for at least a week

I've always been reassured by this

edition.cnn.com/2012/10/08/...

In 86% of cases, the study found, the amount of active ingredient present in the drugs was at least 90% of the amount indicated on the label. ( This was for drugs between 28-40 years past their use by date )

Of course, our freaking hormones are no doubt a 'special case' but I wouldn't hesitate to use them. Hope you get on well with them. Winter is here and I've upped my meds by a 1/4 grain just to tread water

Great advice from the members . I wouldn't hesitate either to use thyroid meds that passed their expiration dates . I keep my thyroid meds in a cool dry place . I ask from my pharmacist for some desiccants to keep my thyroid meds humidity free as possible .
